St Peter in the Vatican have relics of the true cross as does St Croce in Gerusalemme for ex the inscriptionplate from the cross a big part of the good thief's cross and several other.
Surely we don't need these things to belive the holy faith but they are powerful reminders.

The one who doesn't have any faith that Christ lived so they have to have something physical as proof or a symbol, like the Jews did at Mount Sinai, and look where they lead them.
