Start investigating....immediately! Call friends, associates, anyone who knows him. Find out where he is, and where he has been. There is a reason that he hasn't called or is acting the way he is...He is still living at home, under your roof, and is (or should be )accountable to you and the house rules. Once located, he must be sat down and calmly spoken to. You love him and care or you wouldn't be worried etc.,etc.
If he still won't talk, then you must take things into your own hands and cut off association with his friends and do what it takes to get to the bottom of things. This will be hard and you have to know that he will probably 'blow up". If he walks out again and doesn't come home--you MUST call the police. I have been there. I know. Tough love is truly the best--difficult and heart wrenching as it may be. Good luck.

Call the police. If the child was supposed to be home and isn't, call the police on them. And when the kid gets home, ground the crap out of them. Going out with friends is a priveledge, one this child has just abused to the nth degree. Do not allow the child to go out alone (that's without a parent) until you've regained that trust. Best of luck to you.

Any good parent would not be sitting on the internet asking questions like this. They would be calling friends and family and they would be calling the police and I think forming a search party.

Teens need boundaries (they are still kids and are still developing). Check out some resources by Focus on the Family, James Dobson. One book that has helped is, "The Strong-willed Child."
You have a lot to work on and typically it has to start with you.
