Well I don't know about the restraurants in your city, but Los Angeles has got GREAT italian restaurants allover. I love Andre's Italian Restaurant, Spruzzo Cafe, Kristina's, Marmalade Cafe, Geoffrey's, and a few others. I personally don't like Olive Garden. Olive garden is fake italian...It's just another one of those chain restaurants with crappy foods. I like the small, individual, family restaurants- they're the best!

Macaroni Grill is good. It's the more authentic of the Italian chains. I'm not Italian but it seems that way to me.

there are tons of mom & pop places around, but another chain type that had good food was Ragazzi's. Although they shut down near me - not becuase of the food, but becuase they hired immature kids to work there and they kept playing hip-hop and such for dinner music. Hey it's Italian and should be Italian music.
