I got treated today. First I washed it with dog shampoo (mom thinks it helps), then put mayannaise on my hair for at least two hours, washed it again with dog shampoo, used a wire nit comb with stuff that made it glide easier (we used hair detangler, but oil probably works better), and made absolute sure to get all the nits that we could. We had to buy the chemicals to get the comb so in two days we are going to use the chemicals and comb through again. It is working so far. You have to continually comb through because if you missed just one nit it will hatch and spread again. So continue the chemicals and combing to kill off newly hatched ones and try to eliminate all the nits. We are going to comb through every other day for a week. Of course you want to clean everything or it will get back in the hair.

Shampoo the kids hair, if you have boys shave their heads. Right after you wash their hair, clean all combs and brushes with bleach and water. Take all their linens from the beds and wash everything. Wash their clothes they had on when you found out about the lice. Clean everything you think they came in contact with.

You might have to keep doing this for a while until you see no signs of lice. Also contact the teacher at school, have the school send out notices to all parents indicating the infestion of lice. That's where the contact is usually, from other kids at school.

Besides using the treatments from the pharmacy you MUST wash all clothing, bedding, stuffed animals must be tied up in trash bags for two weeks, all of the furniture must be thoroughly vacuumed and sprayed with the lice spray from the pharmacy. And the most important thing is to get the nits off of the hairs. If you don't get rid of each nit they will keep hatching lice through infinity. If you have sons the easiest thing to do is shave 'em bald. And every member of the family needs to be treated whether you see any of the little critters on them or not. And check everybody's head under a good bright light everyday because you never know whether or not you missed one the last time you checked. Head lice are a scourge in the elementary schools and you can't get them under control unless you take care of them as thoroughly as possible.

There are a few things you can try but the best is to get the lice shampoo the dr. can perscibe it for you. You have to clean everything. Take all stuffed animals and put them in a bag and tie it shut for 2 weeks. Treat everyone in the house and it is best to treat it again in a week or two just to make sure. If you dont get it all taken care of it will return over and over again. Good luck. Remember it does not mean you are dirty so dont let people tell you that. Lice does not stick to dirty greasy hair.

Shampoo there hair and put LOADS of conditioner on and leave it. Then comb and they come out easily. Now wash off the conditioner.
It REALLY works and gets the eggs out too! Do that every other day and you should have no problems. Remember to do all the family though.

Though this will not be popular with the kids, shave their heads to about 1/4 inch of hair. This is the reason the military wants the hair as short as the regulations require.

Well...you have to wash their sheets every night and to get the lice out when their hair is wet you use lice gel stuff to kill them then pick them out and wash your hair.

go to a shop and ask, " do you have anything that will get rid of hair lice?" and they will try to help you. However, don't put on anything too strong or else it will totally ruin your hair and your skin, too. good luck!
