Well, it all depends on the importance this person has for you. it may or may not be an awkward moment, so maybe, you can try.
i'd say a big NO, if you know the person isn't free, is dating or married. In this case, i think that it's somehow disrespectful.

Wow! that's a tough one to answer without having more details.
That is when you really follow your "gut instincts" and listen to your heart.
You can always start out slow and ease into it by maybe giving her a card, writing a poem or giving her a cute stuffed animal with a message on it.
You can do a little spy work and have your friends sort of scope out the situation for you first. You know, find out where she is at with you mentally.
Many times I wish I were young again, but it's time like this that I'm glad I'm old and married..........it's not easy...

I don't know... I'd have to know more about the situation. Sometimes it's better to just let a person know, but sometimes it is better to just keep it to yourself. I wish I could help you out, but I don't want to give you any advice without a bit more info. Good luck though!

ALWAYS tell them how you feel. You never know, she could be asking the same question. This could be the person you marry, or the person that you have a one night stand with. You never know until you try.

i have to tell you my friend i am in the exact same situation,this girl is way to good for me but i keep trying.Although i have not told her how i feel as it would screw everything up completly,take your time and soon enough the truth will come out for both of us
