Your dog is just old. I have a blue healer and all it does is sit around now because its old and your dog might gain weight which is normal. If your dog was sick theres many ways to check:

u could feel its nose
if it throws up
If it has blood in its scat

The only time out of these 3 cases that i would reccomend to bring it to your local vet is if it had blood in its scat. Other wise it will just get better like a human.

Friendly Hello,

I am not sure what the age of your dog or the breed is. If he is a senior dog. His lack of energy could be because of age. But then there are breeds of dogs that age just does not seem to make the settle down. Then it also could be the breed of dog that it is. Some breeds are just more laid back than others. It could also be that you have spent so much quality time with your dog that the dog is comfortable in the enviornment that you have given him or her. Or if your dog seems to be sitting around more these days it could be due to the heat being so hot in your area. Or worse sick. I would look at as many things listed as possible and make a phone call to your vet. Seek some profeshional advice and then between the advise you get and your own opinion but it together and come up with a solution.

How old is the dog? Is the dog eating and drinking? Dogs do slow down after two years and are not the wild and crazy puppy they used to be. Maybe he's bored or depressed. Try playing with him and see if he responds.

I don't know how old your dog is, but if he is acting unusal by not moving around alot then something could be wrong. If it has been going on for quite some time then maybe that is just how he is. Try taking him for a walk if you want him to livin up. Do things that should capture his attention.

If it's a old dog, that's what they do, lay around. If it's a young dog
you need to take it to the vet. Is it eating? If not to the vet
good luck

the dog is probably trying to tell you take me to the vets . I would go ASAP if it was my dog . My dog sees the vet 3 times a year and gets groomed 2 times a month . I love my dog !!!!!

I think your dog is just old, or if he isn't, if he/she is just like a couple of months it could be just because he/she is shy. Otherwise if it isn't none of the above you should go to the vet and get him/her a check-up to make sure nothing is wrong. Good luck with that.
A word of advice, you might want to write on details how old it is! (so it's easier for us to answer)

You should take your dog to the vet. Does the dog have arthritis? Any hip problems? Can the dog see okay? Ask your vet.

if you don't watch tv, go out, or do anything you will be bored and sit around lazy, dogs need love, toys, walks, take to the park, beach. Treats help.
what kind of dog do you have?

He might be sick , if he dosen't/rarely eats food and water.
But he might just be lazy.
If he follows the discription of #1 see a vet!
