In Texas the only requirement that you have as far as living here goes is...........you must have been a resident of the county that you live in for at least 60 days ( I believe that is what it is)

Get married wherever and whenever you want to. If you are having a big ceremony do not be offended if family will not travel from Illinois to Texas. With gasoline as high as it is, it would create a burden for a some people.

No, not at all. You can get married wherever you want. If family is going to have to travel from all over anyway, you might want to consider having a destination wedding, that way everyone can have a vacation out of your wedding! My sister got married in Florida, on the beach, family had to travel from Georgia, Utah, Kansas, Mississippi and California. It was a blast! Best of luck to you!

definitely not.. especially if you (and fiancee) live in texas. i'm originally from florida but lived in ohio.. my family wanted me to get married in florida and my husband's family wanted me to get married in cleveland since that's where they live.. we ended up getting married in ohio in the city we lived in. turned out great.. and that way no parents' feelings were hurt by choosing one home location over another... good luck with the wedding
