why do restaurants charge extra for cheese on a hamburger, but when I say hold the tomato they don't give a refund?

Good point, I guess though, tomatoes do not cost as much as cheese, but that tasteless yellow stuff they put on the burger and call it cheese is really cheap! Wouldn't surprize me to find out it is cheaper by the pound than the tomatoes!
I want the lettuce held, it is limp an tasteless, and often browning on the edges by the time it hits the burger. Where is my refund?LOL.
I'm mad at Taco Bell. I got my #3 with a Dr. Pepper the other day, she asked me if I wanted sauce, I said mild, and I got home, no sauce. I opened a jar of salsa, which probably tasted better, but I want a refund. Tacos without sauce is like french fries without ketchup. LOL

I should really get a refund then, because I tell them to hold the, mayo, lettuce, onion and tomato.

Hmmm.....I would just take the fries myself. As a vegetarian, my own question would be....."why do restaurants charge the same price for a certain food item even when I ask for it without meat?!"
