We're giving up our 2 dogs for adoption. Can anyone recommend a good animal rescue/adoption shelter/center place with the longest staying time (time available for adoption until they have to be put to sleep)? We live in Modesto, CA so somewhere in central CA is ideal.

You're best bet is to find the nearest ASPCA in your area. They shouldn't be put to sleep, unless they're old and ill. They'll find a new home for your dogs to a loving family.

I would just at the very least make sure that wherever you take them that they call you if they "run out of time" so you can pick them up!
