Rumi says in a poem:

Do not build much, for I intend to have you in ruins. If you build two hundred houses in a manner that the bees do; I shall make you as homeless as a fly. If you are the mount Qaf in stability. I shall make you whirl like a millstone.

WHAT is your idea ??

i agree with what you are trying to say..Most people want more money just so they can buy extravagant things.. Money causes so many problems in this world..i never want to be rich..i want to make enough money to pay my bills save a little bit,,buy food for the family, buy necessities that we need, donate some money for charity, have a little extra for any emergencies that may arise.. I feel that when you have an excessive amount of money you start thinking you are better than others and deserve special treatment..

Why would you assume that one can't get security and happiness on ones own. I'm certainly not greedy, I'm not rich and to be honest I don't want the responsibility of that. I'm happy having just enough to get the bills out the way and having something I can save for retirement. I work hard for that. Deities play no part in that, nor are they the crux of whether or not I'm happy or secure.

Love of money is the root of all evil. People think they can have happiness by lots of money as that is what they are brought up to believe. But the love of money is the root of all evil. Money in and of itself is not evil but the loving it more than God is what makes it so bad as it makes you do things you should not be doing.

because society has advanced in a way that the only way for "survival" is to have money. people now do not think they can survive without a cell phone or internet therefore they have a hunger for more money to live in today's world, and it is inevitable that people will choose the material world over God.

Because they know god will not put food on the table.

Give me a fish I eat once, teach me to fish and I will eat forever.
God helps those who help themselves.
Do I need to go on?

I don't think a poem can put a house over your head...
