first thing you NEED to do is go to ford and see if your intake manifold is original or not because those 4.6 have problems with the manifold and ford is paying the bill to replace them due to a class action lawsuit. and if you put your vin in the note section ill get the car info for ya but ill tell you now its not an interceptor you could look yourself at the space between the taillights black with chrome strip is what those interceptors have but lx is body color

there are no 2 wheel abs on cars... The police interceptor had a badge on the rear and on the left rear "opera" glass about it being a police interceptor. The LX is one of the option levels of a crown victoria and is not a police interceptor. Unless there is a big box with about 6 metal tubes coming out of it on the dirvers side by the air filter, you don't have abs... Tires and suspension can be found on the label on the drivers door in code form, as well as where the car was originally shipped to (what Ford district in the US) but all requires a breakdown (found in Ford Shop manuals etc)

No crown vics/grand marquis until the mercury murauder in 03 had a DOHC 4.6 that I am aware of.. Only Lincolns and mustangs had Dual Over Head Cam until the 2003 model year

Call Ford and see if they are willing to help.

An LX is not an interceptor. It is more the entry model. not too many frills
However I believe it has a DOHC which really pops when the pedal is punched. the 96 did not come standard with ABS.
You might google the VIN. or get a CarFax report.

Interceptors usually have a badge that says this, also there's a number in the vin. I believe.

Look under the trunk and back seat for labels/papaers.

There are problems with the gas tank on the Crown Vic. if you're hit in the back of with the help of a vehicle going over 50mph issues spoil loose, hit the gas tank and the tank blows up. police officials used the Crown Vic for years and many dies or were burned horribly with the aid of that difficulty. because of this stay away from and Chevy are popping out with police vehicles back. i could under no circumstances purchase a Crown Vic. with the help of ways, you should use your search for engine to discover articles about this. Ford has been sued with the help of diverse police departments and police officials.
