I am a teacher and I hate that they took out corporal punishment. I see some kids who could use a good paddling. It would solve a lot of the problems teachers face with discipline. Students act out because they know they can and there are no consequences.

Way back in 1985, I was a kindergartner in the great state of Kentucky. I don't remember why I was going to get paddled, but I was. I remember taking one look at that paddle and busting out in tears. It was big and had holes in it. The principal was the only one able to give spankings in my school. It might have been effective because I didn't get in trouble again at school until I was in 7th grade and by then it was against the law where I lived (Michigan) to spank a student. Now that I have a daughter that will be entering first grade this fall, I do not believe that the school should have a right to spank a child. I think that it is the parents responsibility to teach their child respect and manners and responsibility. If the parents are not teaching it, then the parents need the spanking. I grew up in a very abusive home and I don't think that hitting is the answer to anything.

Yeppers,I was in 3rd grade, got mad at a girl.Put a piece of licorice in the toilet dried it off, gave it to her,she ate it ,then told her I did it. Earned 3 paddlings for that and being girl in those days getting paddled..,didnt happen too often. It was very effective, went home and got more from my parents.Hey the toilet water was clean by the way. lol Yes I think it should be allowed inh school.Parents and teachers are afraid of kids now because of lack of discipline.A paddle on the butt is not abuse..,thats why the cushion is there. In my opinion, spanked my kids, didnt beat them and they are responsible good jobs and no mental problems.

Yes, They made us grab our ankles and knocked sparks from our rears with paddles with holes in them. I hated it then, but now, it was the best thing that could have been done. My wife and I currently have given the school my daughter attends written permission to paddle her. Think of it like this... Your child has got to mind more than just their parents. Their boss, police, coach. For every choice they make there will either be reward or discipline.

many times, at the same time as a baby were given a spanking the suitable did it with the instructor because the witness. some human beings do not imagine corporal punishment should be used. a large type of situations at the same time as little ones recognize that they could't be spanked they act up in college. My mom's a instructor, and at the same time as they arrive for the length of a self-discipline difficulty and the mothers and fathers have chosen to no longer have their baby spanked, then they're despatched abode. After some situations of oldsters having to leave their jobs to come back and p.c.. up their unruly little ones, they replaced their minds about corporal punishment.

Some children in school might be more motivated to behave themselves if there were a paddle in the principals office. I think it should be still an option but only for certain ages.

No No No No No! No one is going to hurt or humiliate my child. I was never paddled in school, but the option was there when I went.

i got a whooping in the 8th grade for throwing the raw rubber that fishing worms are made of at my teacher (not intentionally - i was aiming at the door - she just walked in at the wrong time) ... after the principle gave us (my friend and i ) a spanking he had us sit in the hall so we could reflect on the seriousness of the offense.... we sat in the hall way and laffed... although we did think it was funny - we didn't do it again .. :-P

Oh no!!!! Stuff the administrators may discipline my child for, I personally may not do it, nor the same way at home. Beating your kids is a personal thing. They may not discipline them the same way not for the same stuff that you would. My mother wouldn't let them beat me because she didn't think it was right.
