I know this sounds mean, but it works I take a squirt bottle and fill it with water and put a couple of splashes of vinegar in and mix it all together and when my dogs bark I spray them, try and aim for their mouths, they don't like the taste of vinegar, its safe for them as long as there is more water than vinegar in the bottle, my dogs have learned to stop barking when the bottle comes out. Or you can try getting a 2 liter pop bottle and put a couple of pennies in and shake it when they bark and tell them no.
I am a dog trainer.

Dogs bark. That is one of the ways they communicate. Does it just stand out in the yard barking? If so, it is probably bored, or maybe it hears a sound, another dog, a cat, a bird, etc and wants to bark at it.
Does it bark when inside the house? It is probably trying to get your attention. Check its food, water, and see if he has to pee, if all is fine then he wants attention. But instead of giving him attention when he barks, make him sit, or down, or do a trick or something else THEN play with him, otherwise he will associate barking with getting your attention.
If he just barks all the time for no reason, it may just be a barking habit. Some dogs just like to hear the sound of their own voice. If you have another dog, they will bark more cause they get each other going.
I would first try simple training. If he starts to bark and there is nothing he needs, put him in a down stay and say "Quiet!" If he doesn't respond, gently put your hand around his muzzle and look him in the eyes and repeat the command, keeping him in a down stay. After a few moments of quiet, release him with a "good dog!". If he barks again, put him in a down stay and do the same thing. It may take a while, but he should eventually learn that when he barks he will get in trouble. Putting your dog in a down stay while holding his muzzle (gently!) is you asserting your dominance over the dog. You towering over him while holding his muzzle is something mother dogs do to discipline their puppies, so it is something he should understand.
If that doesn't work, I guess try a citronella collar, but most chronic barkers are immune, even to shock collars or other such devices. They also learn to bark only when the collar is off, or do a low bark that doesn't trigger the correction.
Good luck!

Our new house dog did the same thing. We just tell her no and consistently get on to her when she barks. She doesn't hardly ever bark anymore. Only when we are playing with her.

Sorry to say this but I dont really Know. The same thing happens to me, whenever I go outside into my backyard my neighbor's dog always starts barking. What you can do is go to your veterinarian and ask them.
Hope this will help!

well there are shock collers, i really dont like them because they give a shock to the dog when it barks, but thats really the only way to make it realize it needs to stop barking...if u really dont like this way, contact your vet for more info

well thats what dogs do there are collars that make hi pitched noises and that worked on my dogs for a while and then they got use to the sound. And there are citronella collars that spray and dogs dont like the smell of it so they stop barking. You could spray them with a bit of water it wont hurt them just get a spray bottle.
