I think your menu sounds great - she is lucky to have someone who cares enough to cook a special meal!
I agree that wild rice goes great with Cornish hens - or stuff them with wild rice. Asparagus is MUCH more romantic than green beans - if you can find asparagus a good recipe for roasted asparagus is here:

For dessert if you both like chocolate I recommend this really simple chocolate mousse:
1 6 oz bag semi-sweet chocolate chips or (6 oz good quality dark chocolate if you can find it, chopped coarsely)
1 and 1/2 pints heavy cream.
Heat 1 pint heavy cream until hot - stir in chocolate until it melts - let it cool.
Whip 1/2 pint of cream until soft peaks form. Fold cream into chocolate mixture - it should be light but without any white or dark streaks. Spoon into individual bowls and chill.

The fact that you're cooking it is special all by itself. I'm not sure if you want to stuff the cornish game hens, but you could do some wild rice with dried cherries in there...unless she's on Atkins or something.
The only thing I'd make sure you add is chocolate. A nice Baskin Robbins ice cream cake is great, but a couple of hand made truffles to melt on your belly and let her lick off after dinner would be even better.

It sounds very good, but since you're having a green salad, why not have a vegetable that is not green, such as carrots, roasted potatoes, etc., instead of the beans?
As for dessert, anything with chocolate is always nice. If you go to a bakery, you should be able to get two portions of something special. Your partner will be thrilled that you wanted to impress her so much!

Your menu sounds delicious and she should really appreciate what you are trying to do. And perhaps she will. An anniversary is a special day that should be enjoyed by both of you regardless of the food. LOVE is what counts, isn't it ?... Picky or not...
HAPPY ANNIVERSARY TO BOTH OF YOU

Have asparagus instead of green beans. Sounds better. Get something that has lots of chocolate for desert.

are you typically the one to cook? I would say, personally, that you making the effort to do something nice is enough- it truly is the effort that coiunts- of course, clean the kitchen afterwards, so she doesnt have to! And candles and a nice chardonnay wouldnt hurt either!

The dessert should be something that can be eaten from the body. Both should participate in this.
