Last Wednesday morning, I said half jokingly that if I win the lottery I will dedicate my life to following God in the true religion. That night I won. Now I don't believe in God, and even though I was a born again Christian for 15 years, extensive bible study has convinced me that the bible is not the word of God. What should I do? I feel grateful for my new found riches, but I don't know who to be grateful to. Should I go find a Mosque?

Donate all your money. Look into the Church of Jesus Christ of Later-day Saints.

friend,,,, don't be mad at what I'm gonna say to you but , from what you said here , i think you are and have been looking for a reason not to believe in god, the lottery ticket didn't make you feel like you do,,, you have been searching for some time now. to try to find proof he does not exist, where there are many seeking god , tring to find that he is real , i can feel that in your soul you just need assurance of the choice you have made,,, but I'm sorry i cant provide that for you, there is nothing wrong with riches, job and a few more were very rich in the bible,,, but this is what i can say to you,,,,,, what ever is the most important thing in your life,,,,,,that is your god,,,,whether it be money , family , homes ,cars or what the situation may be,,, Jesus said if a man hate not his brother , father , and mother and yes his own life also he cannot be his disciple, ,,,and if you have studyed as you say you know it dont mean to hate your family, but put him first, im lost for words,,,,,what can i say to a man that has read the bible and yet does not believe, ,,,,,,,may God help you and take the scales from your eyes that you may see....a friend,

See, the great thing about God is that God doesn't really care whether you believe or not. You will not go to hell, because God is not the horrid being that Christians want you to believe.

Being grateful for your win is enough. Try to do some good in the world with it. God doesn't want you to pretend you believe if you don't. Not believing doesn't mean you can't do something to improve the world at large, since you now have the means!

Congratulations!

The true religion is agnosticism; all other religions are based on the faith of a higher power, and an assumption that it is true. The only religion that doesn't make an assertion to the existence or non-existence of god is agnosticism, which believes either that you do not know the existence of god, or you CANNOT know. So the question is, how do you dedicate yourself to following god in Agnosticism.

Acknowledge your lack of belief. Pursue philosophical texts, and question in a logical aspect what things really mean. And when you have come to the end of your journey, you will realize that you still don't know, but that you merely think.

Other than that, just go find some randomass monotheistic religion and donate a bunch of money to chairty.

Perhaps you had better reconsider that the God of the Bible is the true God, for he is the only one you had known before you won the lottery. I think you should consider that the Bible is the Word of God, and he is calling you to repentance.

Even if the bible is not the word of God, unless you can prove that he doesn't exist, a promise is a promise. And if you think that God exists only within, even more important you keep your promise, lest you break a promise to yourself. How you keep your promise depends on how you believe God wants to be followed. Striving to determine that for now will provide forbearance of your debt.
