Not at all, sweetheart, you are a very logical person that just don't believe in fairy tales. Don't ever let anyone tell you you are wrong for not believing in such nonsense.

I am believer of Jesus Christ. I was born to a family of Lutheran father and Orthodox mother. I always believed, but I started to study more when I was 15 and I was going to the confirmation school.

I was never a church goer, but I liked to study Bible. Then when I stopped reading the Bible, I kind of lost my faith.

I joined to the church here in the USA, and it is a non-denominational church where the Bible is the center of the teaching and we believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of the living God, our Lord and Savior.

When you believe that the Bible is the God's life manual for us, you know that Jesus came to earth to free us from religions. He wanted us to have a personal relationship and a life changing connection with God. If you want to be with God after you die, Jesus is the way and the truth and the life.

This message that God loves you and gives you a free will, might come across as a threat that if you do not believe in my God you go to hell. But if you end up in hell, it is your choice. I do not criticize you, no. I respect your choice. And God will respect your choice as well.

God is real no matter how you think about Him. Use your free will wisely. You have all the time here on earth, we just do not know how long that would be. We Christians do not get saved because we are good. We get saved only by the mercy and grace of our God. You do not have to be a bad person to miss heaven. Remember, God loves you.

Contrary to the opinions of Nora22000, I have not been "trained since birth to attack and criticize." You have free will to chose to accept or reject belief in God, and Christians as well as non-Christians also have the right to criticize you. I'm not saying that they should, since criticizing someone is obviously not the most effective way to bring them to another's point of view. If you are right and there is no God, then the Christians have lost nothing by believing. If the Christians are right and there is a God, then you will have to answer to God, not the Christians, at the end of your life. I respect your decision and will pray for you whether it makes a difference or not :)

I will not tell you if you are right or wrong, as this is a personal decision you must make that will shape how you live life today, the next day and for years to come. Please take the time to ctirically examine both camps--the for God and the for nature (or not for God) camp. Use your emotions as well as your head to make choices that make sense to you. I believe that if you truely go out seeking to find the truth you will find the right answer--it will take years of work however. Try to be open until you have enough evidence to argue your case. Be blessed.

No one should criticized you. It is your responsibility do decide what you believe in. My parent brought me up as a catholic. When I was old enough to think for myself, I became a christian. I am glad they brought me up in a faith though because I learned some truths of faith. Most religions have some truth in common. This is why we should all try to be tolerant and respect others. God's word the Bible says, "as far as possible be at peace with all men."
Peace and Good Will,
Cathy

Yes you are wrong there is a God and if you don't believe in him it doesn't give anybody a right to pick on you. Matter of fact the ones who do the picking are judging and that is Jesus Christ job so it makes them hypocrites. Ignore them because i believe that what you believe in today can change overnite.

There actually aren't that many atheists. Prevalence is 2.36% or ~141million out of 6billion of so people. Most people who are atheist move to agnostic or pick up a religion, because there is just no more way to know there is a god than to believe there isn't one (agnostic). There is no reason for them to be critical, assuming you aren't critical.

Congratulations on being so intelligent and independent enough not to submit your rational mind into accepting primitive beliefs by those who want to control you. Religion is all about control; those who believe absolutely do NOT want you to think about much of anything. All they want is for you to just submit and believe like a good sheep. You are a human being!! Your greatest gift is your intelligence: use it wisely to succeed in your life. And leave the ignorant to their ignorance.

No. You can be anything. Your parents are correct. Anyone can be any religion they want to be. It's pointless for people to criticize you just because you don't believe in a "God". Many religions don't believe in a "God". And many people are Athiests.

No, you're not wrong, and your parents were quite bright.

However, many of the religious people you meet have been trained since birth to attack and criticize anyone who is not like themselves. Therefore, they would attack you if you DID believe in God, but not their version of God, and they'll attack you even harder (because they think they will convert you) if you say you don't believe in God.

It's best to avoid the subject if possible, and if unavoidable, to come to an agreement to not try to convince each other.
