I was wondering if there are any NATURAL ways to promote fuller hair growth where I am thinning... I am a guy and am only 19 and about 1 year ago my hair was perfect... I wore a hat a lot which I JUST found out is bad because that will cause hair loss... Its right in the middle front of my head... This is really downing my self esteem lol anyone have any ideas? I dont want medication because I am scared of side affects and or/messing with my body with unatural supplements... Thanks!

It seems, u r suffering from alopecia (hair-loss) because of excessive androgens (male hormones like testosterone) in ur body, and about which nothing can be done. I'm assuming ur hair r coming out with their roots. And if they're breaking from middle of their length, protein-deficiency could be the reason.
Eggs r good source of proteins, & so is 'tofu' (fermented soya nuggets).
Take care of dandruff if u have it. Don't apply hair oil (promotes occurence of dandruff) or styling gels (harsh on hair). Remember, for anything to benefit or harm ur hair has to reach the skin of ur SCALP.
I'm also suffering from a similar problem, & have been applying alcohol-based solution of 'MINOXIDIL' for six months now. It widens (dilates) the blood vessels in the scalp thus increasing the blood supply & possibly also opposes the action of androgens locally (within the scalp). I haven't had any side effects till now.
Also, it's important that u get good sleep & don't suffer from any emotional stress (including that because of hair-loss!). Hope u find this useful. Bye. TC.

for the moment I'd suggest you continue your education and forget about your hair. When you're out there making great money you can have some transplanted (like grass) from the back to the front and you'll have hair again. Your loss may be hereditary. Usually "plugging" as they call it is the best alternative, it works and looks great. Take a look at President Regans hair in his pictures. He had that done.

Some older people who go on blood pressure medicine have noticed that the hair the lost had returned. But you're not ready for that yet. I also see the ads for Rogaine on tv.

Okay Hun. The hat thing is kind of a myth. Balding is based on heredity. It comes from you mother's side mostly, but if your dad's family had it too, you're probably going to lose it Hun. I'm sorry. I always encourage my clients who have this problem to use Nioxin Shampoo and Conditioner. You can buy it at any beauty supply store. It promotes a healthier scalp for hair growth. Your next best thing is going to be rogain. I'm so sorry, but here is some good news... a lot of women like bald guys. Some think they are really sexy. Anyway, good luck! If there is anything I can do to help, e-mail me. Thanks!

Welcome to my world. The same thing happened to me around 18 or 19. And from what I understand the hat thing is just an old wifes tale. I don't know if there are any natural ways but I will be watching this question to find out. God I hope there is. I love my hair and really don't want to see it go, but if it must it must. good luck to the both of us.

Don't worry about it! I started that at age 17, at least. It's in your genes, and nothing will really change it.

Learn the jokes: God only made a few really handsome heads, and He covered the rest with hair.

You'd better get a bald head before you are walking around with a horseshoe...http://www.wise4living.com/hfhair-loss/images/hairloss.jpg
