i recently dropped my sisters digital camera i do not know the xact make but i know that it is a canon, the screen has gone white and all the buttons still work the camera turns on and off, i need to know whether this is just a problem with the screen or if there is damage to the whole camera and how much can i expect to pay ti get it fixed. Thanks.

Draw a smiley on it with a Sharpie marker.

Like the guy says, try taking some pictures and see what you get when you download them onto the computer - if you have a viewfinder on the camera that you can look through then it'll be just like having a film camera - you don't know what you've got until you get the prints back :-) Keep it on full Auto.

Probably not worth the expense of a repair, unless someone in a camera shop can fix it in a few minutes over the counter.

To test the extent of the damage, turn it on and try to take a few pictures. The pop the memory card in your computer and see what you've got.
Unfortunately, even if it's just the screen that was broken you're looking at an expensive repair.

Go ahead and read the instruction manual. Basically and officially your camera is gone. Do not buy another they are all crap. Buy a digital camera that you can do video with.
