Having been a serious drinker for 25+ years, I know a bit about the subject.
My life IS sorted out, I'm not "in recovery", I quit drinking. I quit a lot of things as I grew older, doesn't mean I'm against other people doing them.
I'm very much anti-AA, and when any questions with the words "AA", Alcoholics Anonymous", or "alcoholic" are asked I check them out. I see something I know the answer to, I answer it.

When I was an alcoholic I knew the % of most booze, facts about alcohol interested me at the time.
Even the booze I didn't drink.
Alcohol became an obsession for me.
I can't talk for others.
(I tend to answer the all categories questions I don't often look what section it is in.)
