It can attract as well as detract. It mostly depends on if somebody wants a person to help complete them by offering what is missing. Others like having someone agree with you and share opinions. I think the latter is a rather boring type of relationship though.

To some degree, yea. Most because there's mainly a few certain characteristics that pull us into people, regardless of how different or similar they actually turn out to be. For instance, sense of humor, intelligence and a pretty face, are the main things that get me interested in a guy. He could turn out to be totally the opposite of my personality, or like my long lost twin. Either way though, since you're attracted to them from the main characteristics, you fall in love with 'em, build respect for 'em, and then nothing else matters.

yes, i believe so.
well it may not be true all the time but i think so. lol
'cause if you are TOO alike it`s like your twin. you wouldn`t want that really, like yeh a little is good but after a while you might get bored?
i think opposites attract cause then you`ll have more to talk about. you get to spend time learning about each other and during the process fall in love with that person(=
besides, you should give it a try; after all you never know that person may be your true love ;D

Chemically we are attracted to those with "opposite" immune systems, presumably to guarantee our offspring the best chances of survival. This was proven with blind smell tests and DNA analysis.
I'm sure this logic can extend to many social, cultural, physical, sexual dimensions of attraction.

Sometimes it happens, I used to be attracted to this girl that was the complete opposite of what I thought I wanted. I guess it was because it was new, exotic and unexpected.

we tend to look for ppl who r not like us so that we can fit together like a puzzle. but unfortunetlyy sometimes these same diffences turn to be the reason that relationships break apart but ya most times opposites attract and only boring ppl look fr ppl sith similar taste

Holy lord do they ever! I seem to be drawn to these "bottom dwellers" that I know could never work out in the long run. I think I may have figured out why...
-I'm drawn to them cause I feel I could make their life better, and that would make me feel better as a person.
-They go along with the idea cause they've never had anything like me before.
That response seems REAL selfish and egotistical, and I've realized this... but it's the truth.

opposites obviously attract otherwise 'man' and 'woman' would never be created itd jsut be single s3x...i mean i definitely dont find anything of a girls interesting...men are just so attractive for me...and vice versa for men..im sure!..i dont know how people turn gay...because its just a little..sick..i mean you can never fall in love with the same s3x..i just dont believe in all that

I don't think they do all the time because if you're the opposite of someone then chances are that you won't really like them.
