You probably burn a little more than usual, since the water brings up your body temperature, and bringing up your body temperature increases metabolism.

If you're fooling around in one, then, yes, you burn a few. If you're just sitting there, it's not many. You might burn about ten more calories than if you're sitting in a non-heated chair. They're not a substitute for exercise. Same goes for those plastic sweat-suit things--all you lose is some water and you get hot, which means you burn a few extra calories, but I do mean a *few*. So get hot exercising and burn calories for real.

you burn calories if you are alive. sitting in a hot tub at idle you probably burn around the same amount of calories as you would sitting on the couch.
your body does not expend much energy to cool you off, it just loses moisture (you use more energy to stay warm in the cold).

a individual weighing one hundred pounds burns 126 energy in warm tubs. a individual weighing one hundred twenty five pounds burns 158 energy in warm tubs. A one hundred fifty lb individual will burn approximately 189 energy for one million hour in warm tubs. a individual weighing a hundred seventy five pound burns 221 energy in warm tubs. A 2 hundred lb individual will burn approximately 252 energy for one million hour in warm tubs. a individual weighing 225 pounds burns 284 energy in warm tubs. a individual weighing 250 pounds burns 315 energy in warm tubs. in case you're attempting to drop some weight, sitting in warm tubs on my own won't do it. even though it rather is a advantageous addition to a calorie burning habitual :)
