First off, we didn't evolve from apes. Apes and humans and
chimps all evolved from a common ancestor.

We all evolved differently because we were all subjected to
different environmental stresses and by the luck of the draw
(which mutations happened when).

This is a question about evolution, however, not atheism.
While scientists generally use the evolutionary theory
for species development, it is not the same as saying that
if you don't believe in God, you must believe this happened.

Indeed, many Christians (I suspect MOST) believe in evolution
to some degree, but are not sure who and/or what drives it.

You can even, if you put your mind to it, imagine that God
created evolution.

because they didn't need to, to survive. an environmental influence in Africa (part of a temperature change if I remember correctly) caused it. I do believe it was when the Savannah was formed. It used to be a jungle or at least a place with many more trees ergo we needed those appendages that the apes needed. Once it became a grassland there were no more tall trees and the generations of apes started to stand straight up because they had to be able to see over the grasses to watch for predators. That is when man started to walk upright. we also developed opposable thumbs during that time because we had to use tools to either help with food, shelter, or weapons. So the answer is that there were apes that didn't need to evolove so they didn't.

We didn't evolve from apes. Humans and apes both evolved from a common ancestor primate a long time ago. I hate this argument. The first thing they told us when I learned about evolution was that no one EVER said humans came from apes. We are just related. Did you come from your cousin?

some did and some didn't. Some were forced to, and if they didn't they would did. It all mattered on where they lived and what was happening to the climate. Some apes were able to stay where there were trees that they could climb. Some were forced into land where all the trees were dying and they couldn't climb, so either they began walking upright or they died. over generations they were born with different pelcie/hip structures so they could waly easier. Then they evolved and evolved and... here we are! Isn't life Great!!!!!!!!!!!!

I stole this from PBS.org:
Where We Came From

1. Did we evolve from monkeys?

Humans did not evolve from monkeys. Humans are more closely related to modern apes than to monkeys, but we didn't evolve from apes, either. Humans share a common ancestor with modern African apes, like gorillas and chimpanzees. Scientists believe this common ancestor existed
5 to 8 million years ago. Shortly thereafter, the species diverged into two separate lineages. One of these lineages ultimately evolved into gorillas and chimps, and the other evolved into early human ancestors called hominids.

How f****** stupid are you? Have you ever gone to school? Apes did evolve. They evolved into apes. Crack a book there sometime, you just might learn something.

Because if evolution is correct than it's something that takes thousands of years. Only certain types of apes evolved, others did not.

Besides try scientifically proving your theory before you disprove someone else's.

Apes did evolve - with us - from a common ancestor. Science does not claim we evolved from apes. You shouldn't learn about science in church.

This is a perfect example of xian mythunderstanding of science and a classic example of the strawman argument, a logical fallacy.

Next mythconception?

Get an education.

Evolution never posits that we evolved from apes.

besides, evolution ALSO never posits that when a new species splits, that the original species cannot continue on unchanged.

Go find your science teachers and slap them.
You got cheated out of an education.

PS: evolution =/= atheism, dumbass

A simple sample, so that you understand easily:
Some birds fly some don't. But they are still from bird family.
Some apes can talk, some don't but "we" are still from the same family.
Besides atheists do not have to be evolutionists. I would still be an a-theist if there had not been evolution theory.
