Why can a total stranger be so mean to you? Why call people names? What is wrong with these sad people?

The truth about Answers is, NOTHING IS REAL on these little groups and NOTHING IS WHAT IT APPEARS.
When you come to Answers, you have to have the attitude that nothing which is said to you is important or, for that matter, is really intended FOR you.
Answers is a game place... it's where sick-kos like me can come and play and not have to be overly politically correct about what I say. If you like what I say then you can read it or even respond to it but if you don't like what I say then you can vote it thumbs down.
If I say something that is WAY OUT OF REASON and would be considered objectionable by normal people, you can even report me for abuse... but to me, that's the coward's way out... I would much rather go head to head with someone than to report them.

As a self proclaimed (and somewhat obnoxious) atheist I have been called a wide variety of names (most have been G or PG rated) by Christians, Muslims and others. It's part of the internet experience, there are rude, obnoxious people everywhere, but to tell the truth that's what keeps me coming back. If everyone were courteous and polite it would be way too boring. I like a little drama and uncouth behavior. It helps to have a thick skin when someone insults you. I just try and insult them back with the wittiest thing I can say without swearing (much) and It really makes me happy when the other person is too dumb to 'get' my insult. ;-)

It's because they're total strangers. As long as they remain anonymous, people do not have to account for their opinions. So they can be the biggest a$$holes in the world without fear that someone they insult will pound them into sawdust in response, like in the real world.

They are rude because it is a forum where one can say whatever they like without retribution. There is always Karma though. Rude people are ride people, online or off. In the end people get what they give to the world.

I'm sorry but, that's just the Internet....everyone's kept guarded away by the safety of technology...with this whole Yahoo question site being anonymous, there are no bounds...you best get used to it...everyone's an asshole because they can be without getting caught. oh, and by the way, your grammar is horrendous...did you use dictionary.com before you posted this question?

small minds don't like to think about questions, they just like to say something and be heard by someone. Just consider the source and realize that the are brain dead.
