A few but not most. The Da Vinci code was a fiction book by a fiction author. It is historical fiction so he took some real events and loosely based it off them. It is however fiction and he made almost all of it up. The book is meant to be entertaining not educational.
It is like reading a harry potter book. Sure London is real and the train station they go to is real. there however is not a magic pillar you can walk through to get to the train to some magic school. Some parts are real but it is a fiction book.

Here's the deal. The Da Vinci Code is pure fiction. There are some ancient texts that say Jesus and Mary were married. There was a book in the 70s called Holy Blood Holy Grail that looks into this (there were also others, this was the most famous one). The elements of Brown's book that are "true" were in fact hoaxes that were proven false. I guess Brown didn't do his research.

It is true that Leonardo did hide some things in his paintings, but nothing about Mary and Jesus having kids. His was more about the importance of John the Baptist over Christ, and making them more human than god.

No. I am bored to explain, but the whole story has been exposed as a forgery even before the book was written. Plus, history would have been different if it was true. I am a historian, I know how these things work. history is altered, but not so substantially. The followers of Christ would have protected his wife and child and it would have been a big issue, so it would never have been hidden. Plus, there are many inaccuracies in the story.
By the way, why would it be true? There is not one single historical source to point to that direction. I recently watched a BBC documentary about the "facts" in the Da Vinci code, and they are in fact pure fiction.

If you read and believe in the Bible, you would know that some of the stuff they claim are completely out of character with the Jesus in the Bible. The Da Vinci Code is a fictional work, not fact.

I did not see the movie. I knew there would be a lot of untruth in it. What would be the point. It was fictional. The Bible is not fictional.
When I go to the library I see books listed as fictional so I know what I am reading may be based on truth or have some truth but it is a fiction book. I will read this.
This movie does not make that clear and so is only a way of confusing many who are already confused enough. The Bible does not need anymore drama. There is already enough.

No Way!!Jesus is the son of God.The Da Vinici Code is just like the movie Blast From The Past!It is not real.Jesus and Mary M. never had any of sexual relations. This is just a way to try to pull Christians away from Christ, and a way to get non believers another reason not to believe! My church had a couple of weeks on the Da Vinci code decode. If you like we have a web site that you can go to,and hear what my Pastor has to say. It's just click on serom center
page.Good luck and God Bless!! You know I seen where someone had said christains don't won't to believe it if it don't support God 100%.Thats pretty much true, because we know the word of God and seen what he has done in our life!People say they don't believe in God because you can't "see"him.Well you can't see alot of things, like AIR but you know its there right?

It depends on who you ask.
Anyone affiliated with churches that use the bible will probably say "no" because it would mean the bible contained lies.
But anyone that never believed the bible was entirely true in the first place, such as myself, would say that The Da Vinci Code makes a lot of sense to me and I don't doubt that as much as some other stories IN the bible.

Well, I think anything is possible in the world. Who says one persons preception of Jesus has to be the same as the next guys?
And I agree with what another person answered- it is in the fiction genre... but I also think that if the movie and book have caused people to read the bible (which I have, but I am firmly on the side of being pagan), or to question and try to learn a comfotable spirituality for themselves, who cares if the book is fiction- it has helped people grow as individuals.
