PTSS is a codition that life has affected you. Depression is more chemical imbalance.
here's some more :
PTSD stands for posttraumatic stress disorder also known as PTSS (posttraumatic stress syndrome). For many privates the war was over and they returned home to find out that the war had never left them. Some of them had many difficulties with trying to fit in and to cope with their present lives. They deal with nightmares, flashbacks, anxiety, mood swings, hostile tendencies, paranoia, martial troubles, problems with law enforcement, etc.
A tamed wolf always longs for the wilderness. We are a bit like a wolf, feeling forced to be tamed by society. And if society succeeds we still don't fit in. We long for the pack, where we once belonged. We long for the hunt and the comradeship of the pack. We got cut off from the group and we were forced to become a lonely wolf. Looking back on the war which never left our minds. Don't we all feel like a chained wolf? Don't we want to break free? Don't we want to have a place where we feel we belong

I'm no doctor, but PTSS is post traumatic stress syndrome, which would be the reaction to something traumatic that happened in your life and it effects your mental and emotional well-being. I think depression can happen for no reason at all sometimes, a chemical imbalance. Hope that helps.

PTSS is caused by a trauma. One is haunted by the event and certain situations, smells, can cause a flashback. Often the victim becomes depressed by the trauma and often feels like it was his/her fault and feels hopeless and can become depressed. Therapy often helps one deal with the PTSD symptoms and return to normal life. Depression is more of a chemical imbalance of the brain and can be caused by several factors. Depression can be treated with medications but not all depression can be treated effectively. But, if you have either one of these issues, you need to seed the help of a qualified mental health professional like a therapist. Not all individuals need to see a psychiatrist unless they are interested in taking psychotropic medication.

Post Traumatic Stress Syndrome is caused by something much more than depression. Depression is usually a chemical imbalance in your body, mostly serotonin. Serotonin is replaced in the body by many anti-depressants. PTSS occurs when something very traumatic happens to one, such as the sudden death of a close loved one, or even the loss of a job. It too is very treatable. Eating alot of fish, or even taking fish oils, and being in alot of sunlight can help the body with serotonin replacement.

Post traumatic stress is a reaction to an event, depression may be a reaction in which case its called a reactive depression or there may be no apparent cause when its called endogenous depression. In depression there are persistent feelings of sadness which dont go away sleep disorders and appetite disiorder. In ptsd the reactions may be periodic as opposed to persistent. Both can respond to therapy but depression can also be treated by medication in conjunction .Ptsd may also require some cognitive therapy to realise and face up to what caused the stress in the first place

Depression is a mental state of low self esteem or worth. It can reoccur periodically sometimes for longer periods. It does not appear to have any triggers.
PTTS is usually linked to some traumatic event in the sufferers life, when the correct 'button' is pushed, i.e. a link to the traumatic event. This can be cured by methods including hypnosis.
