Your Mom was 15 at one time also. The two of you should discuss the dating issue calmly. I have 3 daughters ages 27,21,and 15 and no my 15 yr old does not date. She does however have a boyfriend that she talks to on the phone and See's at school. She has asked me the same thing about not letting her grow up. It's not that we don't want our children to grow up, We don't want you to be hurt emotionally 15 to 17 yr old girls or boys have a lot to deal with and dating complicates your life more. Talking with with each other (not yelling) is the key. And be sure to listen to what each of you have to say .There is always hope, God is always listening so ask him what you should do, and listen with your heart he will answer. God Bless You and Your Mother.

We the surfers of cyber world meet with so many people every day. Surfing the net is the best pastime one can ever develop, as internet has the most knowledge, a surfer will never have to wait for a answer. The vast knowledge of cyber world is nothing as compared to the cyber society that it gives. Internet is a community but so vast that we need a place to make conversation easy. What more can be better than a chat room for this purpose, well a chat room and a message board along with a forum is the best combination really. I was actually looking for a place where we can find all these things with a profile and photo brouse option. Finally I got this site, this place is a very nice community where we can share every thing online. And also about the leader board, I must tell it is great. The thought of the leader board is unique, as not to many people has thought about this thing. And the method of getting the leader is very different and one must check out this site once. The cyber culture is growing, and it is about time that we find our club and that to a very different club, which is not a part of any big website house like the yahoo and google. This site am talking about has every thing that a cyber surfer ever wants. This is the website address, http://www.friendscyberclub.com/ Features of this site is: 1) chatting 2) view profiles and photos 3) upload your photos and make a cool profile. 4) your message board 5) forum 6) See your name on the leader board. There are also many more features available in the site, free to join.

I'm not the best to answer considering all the other replies, dating is just THAT - its just movies and fun...My daughters have been seeing boys as BOYfriends since they were 12, neither has let me down, done anything stupid or had any sexual contact...my own mother was the same with me, I find if i forbid something they want it all the more, and will sneak out behind my back, (like i used to)...why cant she compromise, he can come see you at your home while she is THERE, supervise if you like, surely in your own house, like mine do, there cant be any probs...i odnt understand this wait till 16 rule, if something is forbidden it makes it all the more attractive..my 16 year old ahs had 'enough' of boys for now and is concentrating on her friends and her last year of school (instead of thinking about BOYS)

You can tell her you are responsible... but have you shown her? Is the guy older than you or the same age? The rule in my house is no dating until you are 16. You have to be careful with guys... they will try to coerce you into doing something that you will regret. Your mom is just trying to keep you from getting hurt.. that's what we do, its in the "Mom Manual". Maybe she would feel better if you go on group dates, 5 or 7 people going out together. But really, talk to her, and keep an open mind, just like you want her to. I think you'll find she's just looking out for your best interest.

You don't and if thats her rules then it is and you deal with it. Its not about not wanting you to grow up, its about not wanting you to ruin your life which happens to girls over boys every single day, those girls all thought they were 'ready' too! You ask her to pick a time when you can date so there is a goal and she has to think about when she will actually let you start dating. You behave in a mature and responsible way, you prove that you can make good decisions and won't be suckered in to sex by some horny teenaged boy that will say anything to get what he wants. You educate yourself thoroughly on pregnancy and STD's to prove that you know all the facts and how to protect yourself. Trust me no teenage boy dates anyone for any other reason than to try to have sex with them. You don't understand that, you think there is some fairy tale romantic side to it, there isn't, well at least not to a majority of them and even if there is it is still leading to the same place. I know that you THINK you know everything, and you THINK you really understand whats going on but honey let me tell you that you don't even see the tip of the iceburg yet let alone understand it, your mother does know and its exactly you thinking that you do that worries her so much. If a person realizes that they don't have a clue they can be careful, if they think they know whats up they are likely to get in way over their heads before they realize whats even happening.

First of all, you need to sit down with your mother and ask her what reasons why you cannot date. I'm sure she has valid reasons. Then you need to offer your points respectfully. Maybe you could offer to start by meeting your "date" in a public place with others around. Have your mom drop you off and pick you up. Or invite your prospective beau over to the house for dinner to meet your parents. Maybe if they approve of your choice, it would not be such an issue.

I have a daughter that is 13, almost 14. I don't allow her to go on "real dates" (being picked up in a car). She can go to that person's house for dinner and vice versa, meet up with them at school dances and activities. I am uncomfortable in allowing her into someones car and I worry that she may feel pressured into other more "adult" things. Your mom has your best intrest I promise.

Just tell her that you are responsible and you know right from wrong. Start up a conversation about anything then try to ask her how old she was when she first dated, what her first boyfriend was like ect. she may have had something bad happen to her in the past and doesn't want the same thing to happen to you so she thinks its for your own good to not date. Ask her why she won't let you date. If she gives you a good reason then leave it be for a month or two, then ask her again.
Good Luck!!

As a mum you need to talk. Pick your time carefully, when she's not in the middle of something else and present a compromise situation she just can't refuse. How about an invitation to a facily bbq, although make sure there are enough people there to get lost in the crowd. Alternatively a staged trip out, mum drops you both off and picks you up eg cinema. That way you keep her happy as she still has control and you get some time together.

I also have a 15 year old.Try asking your mom if some friends can "hang" at your house. From there take little steps.Do you have fun with your mom?If you do ask her to go out with you too.It will show trust on both parts.
Watching your kids grow up is hard. But that is part of life.Have some patience with her.sit down and have a real discussion on the "Dating Rules".Good Luck!♥

i've been in the same situation. talk to your mom. tell her how you feel, but be very respectful. also i know its hard but realize that your mom knows you better than anyone. she's also wiser than you are and does what she does because she loves you. present your case and listen to what she has to say. if its still a no respect that and realize that its probably for the best. i'm still not allowed to date but have haven't ever had to deal with the drama that my friends have and i have had the time to focus on the more important things in my life like my friends, family, future, and God. i really think im happier because i haven't dated young.
