Every few months or so. I'll wake up and as soon as I stand up and walk around my stomach cramps up and hurts..It's not menstrual cramps..It only feels good if i slouch over or lie down on my side. It only last about half a day or so and I'm just wondering why it does that and what I can do to make it better. I can eat and do whatever..It's not like I'm sick.It just has these sharp cramp things. Also..My dad and his mom have these bad stomachs things about once a year. sometimes they have to go to the ER. Did I inherit it? Thanks

You should keep a diary about these attacks. Like what you ate the night before or if you had any strenuous activity. Also go see a doctor. I would see the Dr. now, but later on if the Dr. doesn't find anything the diary could help you see if there's a pattern with these episodes. If there is a pattern you could take the diary and go back to the Dr. with more information than you had the first time.

I have experienced stomach pains and this is how they felt. I would be fine and then all of a sudden a sharp pain that made me double over would strike and last for a few moments then it would be gone. It would hit me like this a couple dozen times over the course of the day. I think I figured out what was causing mine, pork. Unless it is a coincidence every day where I had these pains the night before I had pork roast.

Back in the day I use to "smoke a little herb" when I had a stomach problem like you described... now I don't smoke because I have some strange "virus like" head pain...it's a long story. (I hope my pain goes away, I do not think this head pain I speak of is caused by cannabis, I think it is from some odd chemicals which may have been injected into me, but I don't know what it is)

But I changed my diet to a VEGAN diet around the turn of the century and over all I do feel better because of that.

Are these cramps accompanied by gas or bloating. It definitely sounds like you have inherited it, but that is obviously up to a doctor to decided. do you all share the same water source and for how long? Perhaps it is something in your mutual environment.

I would ask a doctor, and seeing that it seems to run in the family I would bring that up to the doctor as well.
