Yes but he knows i like him but he went and got himself a girlfriend and didnt even tell me. I just hold on to the faint gleaming hope that one day he'll break up with her and his feelings will change.

Yeah, because as long as they're not with someone else, you may have a chance to get that person. You just have to get to know that person. They may love you back after that.
