If you really want it chocolat then go for it. but paint the walls and ceiling all one colour and find small scale accessories that blend well with the wall colour and don't go bright whiote with the trim cause the contrast will draw the walls together and make it seem smaller.
however be prepared if you do paint an extreme colour you may hate it and have to repaint and chololate is not going to be covered easily. If you can accept that risk then go for it .

I think it would seem smaller with a dark colour. What you could do, if you really want the dark colour, is paint the walls brown and the trim white but then paint the ceiling the same colour as the white trim. It would help open up the room a little more. I did the same thing in my bedroom. I wanted the walls a dark maroon colour but I painted the trim and ceiling a light peach colour.

If you still want to paint it brown, consider not going all of the way up the wall. Instead, paint up to within a foot or so of the ceiling. Then paint the ceiling and the top section all the same color (white or very light) which will give the illusion that the room is wider.

in general dark colors make a space look smaller....
I will advice you to paint it the color you want but keep the ceiling color white...as well as the trims...You can also add mirrors by the sink and another in the facing wall, this would increase the spatial sensation.

if its very small,(like mine) paint it all WHITE, all the nic nacs, towels and such, will bring all the colour you need, it will look bigger, get a large mirror fitted and use bright towels...
otherwise, paint it white and use choclate for the trim only

Yes it does, perhaps you could change the plan and paint it white and let the trim be chocolate?

Brighter colour always makes small look bigger. And Darker colour makes big look smaller. Same as Clothing.

Yes, everyone is telling the right of it. It will not only make the
room look smaller, but you will probably get tired of the darker
color pretty quick.
