Ive had braces for nearly three years and im sick of them. My ortodontist told me i could get them off at the end of the month, in time for senior pictures... or i could leave them on for another 4-6 months. Id like to get them of but there are two 1 millimeter gaps on either side of my front teeth. so the question is will a retainer after my braces fix these teeth? and if they can- then about how much money will they cost?

You will get a retainer after your braces are taken off, whether you get them off now or in 4-6 months. Yes, your retainer can fix things in your mouth after braces are removed. Mine did. My orthodontist pushed one of my front teeth forward and straightened it up with my retainer.

Since you will have a retainer either way, it should be around the same price... well, actually, maybe cheaper... you wouldn't be paying a monthly fee for braces. (You will still see the orthodontist for the next few months, but it wont be like it normally is)

A tooth Positioner is a removable retainer that will correct your teeth. It looks like a mouth guard that you breath through the center. You must wear it 5 hours a day and while you sleep. There are biting exercises you do while wearing and metal positioners put your teeth into perfect alignment.

I am an Orthodontic assistant and have used them often on patients.

You need to wait. We waited until January to get our daughters senior pictures and that would be just about the same time from now. Just ask him what can be done to help accelerate the process. Rubber bands whatever? My daughter had jaw surgery last August and her braces off by January in plenty of time to pass them out to her friends.

Look at it this way,,,,in 10 to 20 years are you really going to see anyone from your high school verses the health of your teeth and the time and money you have already spent to get them this far?
