• Lip kissing (dry) is usually considered safe to certain extent. However the chances of infection are always there if the partner is suffering from any contagious disease (a disease which spreads by contact).

• Deep kissing (wet) is unsafe as many diseases can be transmitted, HIV, glandular fever (Kissing Disease), H.pylori (the causative agent for peptic ulcers) and ? dental caries, sore throat, gingival infections, other viral infections, syphilis (if partner has a chancre on the lips/in the mouth), herpes labialis (cold sores around the mouth), etc, can be transmitted.
