The drive from the KoOlina Marriott to Waikiki is about 1.5 hours during the early morning rush hour. From the KoOlina Marriott to Hanaumma Bay the drive can take up to 2 hours during the early morning rush hour. If you are heading out from KoOlina directly to Hanaumma Bay, I suggest you plan to arrive at Hanaumma Bay by 7:00 AM. The parking lot gets full quick and entry is closed once max capacity is reached (which is ususally by 10:00AM. Subsequently, vehicles waiting to enter are allowed in as earlier vehicles exit out.
Going in the opposite direction, during the early morning rush hour, it only takes ~30 minutes to drive from Waikiki to KoOlina.
There's an excellent but fairly expensive restaurant (ox tail soup is ~ $7.00 for a bowl) in the KoOlina Golf and Country Club called Roy's, open for lunch and dinner (dinner reservations are recommended). Paradise Cove Luau is also located in KoOlina.

Wow Ko Olina yeah your pretty far away from Waikiki and Haunama Bay area. I mean don't get wrong that area is georgous at night you can see the lights from Honolulu. I don't know of any good restaurants you'd probably want to head into Mililani area or even Waikele those are pretty much the closest places to where you are going to be staying. But one suggestion if you plan on staying out in that area and want to venture off into the Honolulu Area say early in the morning like from 7-9/10 in the morning well that would sux because its all bout TRAFFICE HOUR, if you want to go around the traffic you can take the sceneic route and go throught NORTH SHORE area. So I hope this information has helped. Good Luck and Have a great stay in Hawai'i.

That is called the Ewa area. It is on the West shore. Beautiful place, 2 hotels & golf courses, oceanfront, don't forget to put on sunblock #30, it is hot & sunny!
