do they see in colors and if they stare at the T.V set, are they really watching?

I don't know if dogs see colors but I do know that my dog watches TV. I leave on the TV or radio when I leave for work so as to give him a comfort and it works great. I've seen my dog watch TV and change expressions, especially when there is a dog or cat on the TV, it is amazing, but I DO think they partially understand content as well.

My dog says that she only sees in grays but she does prefer cartoon network over disney channel lately. When I put on OLN she likes the hunting shows and animal planet is a favorite of hers. When we moved from Colorado back to SC, when we would leave her in the hotel room when we went to eat she would bark unless we left cartoon netowrk on for her. They do like the sounds and the images. At least that what she says

no they are color blind and see 2 dimensional they may hear something that may affect their hearing or something that sounds familiar

i have no idea, but they can see only black and white colors.
