Maf is located on the black tube between the air flilter and
the throttle body. It is square and black, with a metal bottom,
and two hex screws.
The MAF measures the amount of air going into the engine.
This information is then fed into the trucks computer, to tell
the engine how much fuel to inject. The MAF is a "hot wire"
design. That is, as air passes over the heated wire inside the
MAF sensor, it cools the wire. That cooling tells us in a simple
calculation how much air is moving past the meter. MAF's can
get contaminated by any number of debris that may pass thru the air filter. Making the sensor read too high or too low. The hot wire can tend to make dirt stick, screwing up the calculation of air.

shouldn't be one, it's a MAP or Mass Air Pressure sensor on the passenger side that has 3 wires and a vacumm hose attached to it that does the function of the Mass Air Flow sensor.... all it measured was Barometric pressure (altitiude) and the vacum in the motor... simple system

It is in the air intake housing. It is in the tube that the air filter is. Between the air filter and the carb
