catnip is perfectly safe for cats to chew, eat and sniff. You do have to watch out for them if they start with rolling papers and pipes. Normally lighters aren't the problem since they have no opposable thumbs. Think of what they could do with thumbs. You have to draw the line somehwere.

You cat is obviously enjoying the catnip!

Interestingly, I've seen different cats we've had react differently to catnip. One would get very agressive - almost *mean*. Another would get terribly giddy and lovey, the exact behavior runs the gamut. Some don't react at all!

We used to grow this in our yard when we had an outdoor cat we took in as a stray. His favorite thing to do was go directly to the apple tree, under which it was growing. Roll around in it, then stretch luxuriously on the tree & get a good scratch in.

Your cat may no be a catnip "junkie", but he sure is telling you he likes it!!!!!! :-)

Catnip has a chemical in it called nepetalactone which some cats seem to react to. Only about 30% to 50% of cats react, and nobody knows why.
Catnip is not addicting and it's not like a drug, so it's perfectly safe to let your cat chew, sniff, and roll in it whenever it wants.

A organic chemical in catnip provides off a scent that the two relaxes and excites many cats. They roll around, leap, rub, and act basically uncomplicated stupid. Even enormous cats including lions can flow wild for catnip. yet no longer all tom cats connect the exciting. The fragrance impacts basically approximately 50 to 70 % of cats. fortuitously the innocuous chemical wears off after approximately 5 to fifteen minutes. i wish i helped you out!

I have a cat that waits by the cupboard everyday telling me loudly she wants her daily fix. I give her a good size pinch. She eats some then rolls in what's left. Gives them the same high people get from weed.

Catnip is a member of the mint family of herbs. They love anything minty like peppermint, spearmint, wintergreen.....Its harmless....they just sniff it.

My cat loves it, too. It's also good for their digestion. The only time she cries for it is when I bring out the bag it comes in. They just love the smell and enjoy a good roll in it.
