I have short, very thick hair that I just got cut yesterday.I've never had it this short before (to my jawline), but I have straightened it many times when it was long without a problem. I washed it today and let it dry and it curled naturally. Then I tried to use a straightening iron on it, which straightened it, but only to a certain point. The straightening iron was really hot so I don't think temperature was a problem. My hair was damp at first, but then I tried again with dry hair. It didn't work that well, each time, but when I tried a curling iron, it seemed to work a little better. Was I going about it the wrong way? Should I keep using a curling iron or find a different brand of straightening iron? Should I blow dry it before I try to straighten it?

If your hair is at your jawline, you are in luck. Just blow dry, wait about 10 minutes after, then straighten. Works great on short hair.

Blow dry or damp, then straighten. Don't go pernament, since it damages your hair cause the high temperature, and it's not straight, it's like...straight and flat. I use Remington Wet 2 Straight. It has three levels, dry, damp, and wet. It works wonders! I got it at Long Drugs.

blow dry your hair in sections w/ a flat brush.
then use flat iron sray all through your hair.
flat iron your hair w/ a ceramic flat iron in small sections so you get a sleek smooth look.
If still not smooth, you may want to upgrade your flat iron.
