Do you do life diminishing activities like smoking and/or drinking? Have you contemplated taking your own life on a regular basis? Is your life what your social circle tell you it is? Does solitude depress you? Do you find relief in escaping your own thoughts by talking chronically with others? If you said yes to one ? you probably are.

There probably aren't many people who can't answer yes to at least one of your questions, and I've probably been guilty of all of them at some point, but what is your point? We all go through ups and downs, and sometimes it doesn't seem worth it, but most of the time we pick ourselves up and get on with our lives anyway. The only time it's a problem is if we can't do that.

No on all accounts. I rather like Life, despite its problems.

While never contemplating suicide, I AM however curious as to how my immediate world would be affected if I suddenly decided to leave it. Would my friends and family mourn for my passing since I died to young? Would they be happy for me having left such a mark in their lives? Would they feel nothing but contentedness since I left having accomplished my life's work? I don't know, but the question never leaves my thoughts.

You bring up a good point, most destructive behavior is a result of self-loathing. Are you fat, a smoker, a drinker, anorexic or bulimic, or overly critical of others?

People who hate themselves make it obvious, and by continuing these destructive behaviors they make their lives a downward spiral. It's sad how many people who claim to be happy exhibit many of these symptoms.

Religious people who are self loathing are also the ones who tell others that they are going to hell, to keep this list religiously relevant. It's sad, it is.

what a crock! you clearly aren't a psychologist, don't go around telling others that they are suicidal because they smoke or drink. You should be ashamed of yourself.
