I would have to say that if you want to put it out of the way, then the person who is responsible for it should place it between their legs under the pew they are sitting at (or chair). Wherever they go, the camera would have to go with them.

Make one person the guardian of the camcorder and responsible for it. If you hire a wedding coordinator, she would do it.
