OK, I'm just going by the wording of your question, here. Hypothetically speaking, if God were evil, I'd be pretty stupid to be an atheist, because the phrase "if God is evil" assumes there is a god.
So if I wanted any wits about me at all, I'd believe in whatever god existed. Luckily, that God happens to be the loving God of the Bible.

It seems so interesting to me how many people who claim not to believe in God are talking so much about Him and asking so many questions in regards to Him. Do atheists ever wonder why God seems to be on their minds so much? Could it be because no matter how much you try and deny His existence and put believers down, His presence is all around and there is no getting away from it? I don't feel the need to take on any challenges or get into a war of words with anyone. I believe what I believe based on my Personal experiences with God and the faith I have come to have in Him based on what I Know for a fact about Him. God is love unconditional and I have no doubts in His existence. God bless you and my prayers are with you.

If you know positively 100% that that there is an evil god then you know there is a god so you can't just not believe in something. it would be like a rotting tree in your back yard you can ignore it but you can't say it doesn't exist. Atheism, of course in a broader sense is just the lack of belief in god, right? So if you know how could you be an atheist?

I'm not ranting, I just believe it is a flawed question that can't be answered, even hypothetically the way you're asking. But since you insist, since I know God does exist, and we wouldn't be here otherwise, I'll still choose to believe in God.

The devil is known as the deceiver; the father of liars and he has done a good job deceiving many as to who he is! God is good and the devil is evil;make no mistake about this--and do not be confused. Also about Hell! After death the damned who go there burn in its eternal fires for all eternity! This is a serious matter--pl do some research on this! Read of the wails of lost souls in Hell! Pl be careful of your soul--we are given just one chance and its life on earth--if we lose this battle(as the devil will fight every inch we do) everything is lost! Forever!

I would rather believe in truth, which in this hypothetical situation is an evil God.
Your question is like asking, If you legs were ran over by a car and they had to be amputated would rather believe you still legs or believe they were gone. You'd have to crazy to deny the fact you did not have legs.

Hypothetically thinking I would not worship an evil sky-daddy.
God is God. He can be what he wants. He turns what is evil into what is good every time you create it. I think He likes it when you go out of your way to try and turn what is good into something evil. You can not compete in the pros when you are an amateur.

You reveal much about yourself in your question. So, you would choose to LIE about the existence of God if it turned out you didn't like who God is? This is the very nature of your atheism - from your own words.
God is difficult. I wrestle with this everyday. But just because He can sometimes be a complete bastard doesn't mean I'm going to ditch my own integrity and say "Ok, I'm sick of You - You no longer exist."
Its an incredibly stupid - and morally vacuous - argument.

The churches had distorted the bible teachings so much that true teachings have been disgarded for the pagan teachings.
Most people don't even know what is false and what is true.
We did research on the cross, thats pagan. Christmas thats pagan, easter bunnies who lay colored eggs.
Actually, next to recognized religion and the pagan custumes
I think i would rather be an athiest. At least they strive for the truth and don't kill people who don't believe the way they do.
They would stop war. I mean who would fight? "You want me to die so you can have something, I don't think so."

I believe, that 'God' is a word we use to refer to that which we cannot see yet 'sense or think' that there is an organizing force behind or within ourselves as humans. In this regard, such a force must be capable of both evil & good, Just as we are capable of the same.
