I know only of one side of my family, my mothers. My great-grandmother died when I was 12, but I remember her. She was always falling for scams that people would pull on her, like, if you buy this living room suite for $800, we'll give you a houseplant for free. She really thought she was getting a bargain. Alot of scammers made money off of her.

You are very lucky. I am the youngest child born to the youngest children in each of my parents' families. My grandparents were very old by that time, and my great grandparents had passed away long time before.

You are fortunate. My mother's grandparents died before I was born and of my father's grandparents, only his father's mother was alive when I was born and she died when I was only a very young child, maybe 3 or 4 years old. I have only very vague recollections of visiting her a few times in a nursing home before she passed away. My brothers and sisters, all younger than me, have no idea who any of our greatgrandparents were.

I met all except 2 of my graet grand parents. My one great grand mother and great grand father didn;t die until I was 17. They raised me from when I was 3 years old. My mommom was the most beautiful woman on the planet and my poppop was the most patient man. I miss them everyday of my life.

You're very lucky! I remember my great-grandfather (my grandfather's dad). Unfortunately he was not the nicest person in the world. My grandmother has many wonderful stories about her mother and all these things she used to do, good and bad. You're very lucky:)
