depends on how steep the hill is, how well it is paved (if it is), and how busy the traffic is on it. in perfect conditions (low grade hill with smooth pavement and little to no traffic... go down in a zig-zag pattern using slow arcing turns and being sure not to pick up too much speed.
in bad conditions... potholes and heavy traffic on a steep grade... don't bother... you'll get hurt.

Funny tou should ask that...When I learned how to blade I lived on top of a big hill! Needless to say I busted my butt the first tie I tried to go down it, I just got going so fast that I made myself fall. I knew there was no way I was going to make it, so I thought a controlled fall would be better then the other options. Then I learned that until I got good I could just go back and forth down the hill, or every once in awhile I would just spin around to stop myself. This would allow me to slow down ans start again. After a while you will get better and you'll just be flying down those hills! And it is so fun!

I like to zig zag down steep hills. It slows you down a little without using your brakes.

Act like you are skiing. Yes, you crouch down. Keep your hands tucked in near your stomach and keep them pointed out in a clenched fist. When you slow down move your legs to keep balance.
