Let's re-phrase that a little bit, why do I always end up in a relationship with someone I feel sorry for..?

Maybe you just feel like you need to be "needed" in a certain way. I have been guilty of that before, too.

According to one theory, you unconciously look for (in relationships) qualities that are similar to how you were treated as a child by your main caregiver (parent nurse nanny etc) IE people who were abused by their main caregiver when young often end up in abusive relationships as adults.
So maybe your parents have treated you in such a way which means you look for guys that you can look after, who you feel sorry for, who dont threaten you, because thats your experience of care....something like that.

I think it's a woman thing. I think it's kind of like a maternal instinct that we have to protect people.
I've had lots of relationships like that, and in my case i felt the need to be with these men for whatever reason, but not for the right ones.

The need to be needed, to be the strong one, to be looked up to, to "rescue" him from himself....but doesn't it get a little old after a while? I mean the endless needy thing would get exhausting. What about when *you* need help/support? I would rather have a man I respect and can relate to as an equal. But that's just me.

Maybe if you went out with someone you didn't feel sorry for you'd feel dominated or inferior in someway?

Being with someone you feel sorry for might give you a sense of power? Or maybe youre just a really nice person and you also have friends who are 'underdogs'?

I did this in my last relationship but unfortunately, he grew stronger and dumped me!!

Because you are from the relm of elemental angels, and one of your life missions is to see past what someone is like and to see their potenial, and you want to fix them and make them their best. sometimes they dont want to or are not ready to improve themselves and you are fighting a losing battle. You just have to realize when you have done enough and then move on to the next one...In your lifetime you will help a lot of guys to improve, and you have to learn to ask for help yourself, from your guardian angels and others around you, accept the help and your life will be happier. I have lots of other information that can help you if your intrested let me know....wizzard4angels at yah oo hope to hear from you my angel.

Because you see yourself as an angel sent down to save the poor sorry soul. You like the feeling of superiority you get knowing that your better then them. And you like the feeling you get when you try to help them, and bring them up to your level.

You don't want your dad or your older brother, and you don't feel sorry for them. You like your younger brother, or you hate your younger sister.
