My step-dad doesn't trust me to do my chores, to be responsible when I go out with my firends, and to do my homework. I have done nothing to make him distrust me. He has been like this since he came to live with us. On top of that, he watches me like a hawk and yells at me anytime I might do something that he doesn't like (i.e. I do English homework before math and he would rather me do it math then English)

Trust is like respect it has to be earned its not just given. It just will take some time.

Until you've earned that trust you're asking for the blank check, need to be honest with yourself, why do you need that blank check.

The best person for you to talk this out with is your counselor at school. It sounds like an issue of control on his part. I don't know if you've given him reason not to trust you or if it's just his personality. But your school counselor is a great person to talk this through with and someone who can talk to your mom and stepdad to find ways to make this better for you all.

It's been my experience that a teenager who's "done nothing wrong" is full of shi*. The world is not to blame for your troubles....you are. Take responsibility for your actions and admit that you are not perfect, punk!!!

It sounds like he is pushing him self onto you and being over powering. This kind of behavior can lead into much worse problems. Hope you mom is on your side and will back you up.
