I'm starting to think that heaven as refered to by Christianity is just us returning to cosmic energy and everything else in the universe (which is where our building blocks came from anyway, right?). No waiting in line in the perly gates or any of that. No individual consciosness. No cute clouds. Maybe a big let down? Maybe not?

And then is hell just you ending us a fuel for a star? :)

Anybody share these thoughts?

Does this fit into any other religion or philosophy?

In Quran, what is true about Heaven never cross Mankind thinking.
So I can understand what you are saying and I can agree to a certian extent to that picture as for example if our senses turned off against pain, being bored, and even being ambition and turned all high toward happiness, joy and ever lasting satisfaction. This could be just an attribute, but certinally there are much more as currently our system is made to die, but in heaven our system is meant to last so we can not expect the same settings of this life to apply on the heaven life.

Any and all descriptions of Heaven are human minds grasping what they have seen and putting it into a three-dimensional context. Thoughts of Heaven as a city in the clouds is a pre-medieval concept, I think that the book was called City of God and the Author was a many name Augustine. His concern was showing the difference between life on our Earth, and Life in Heaven. It was greatly influential in shaping Christian life of the Dark Ages, as it was a great read at the time.

Its relevance for today's age is questionable. Certainly it has some value but our concept of Heaven is very different in many ways.

What Heaven is really like no one can say with assurance. But the Bible says that it is oneness with God (where Hell is separation from God.) If you want to see it as energy that is fine. But I believe (energy or not) that it is going to be what God originally intended for his creation, and may very well be very different then the Earth we see now. Then again there maybe some similarities, but I am counting on it being worth seeing. :)

They say that spirit is even higher than energy. Unfortunately, we are restricted to the use of material words in order to understand. So we use the term energy today to describe spirit, since we know energy never dies.
There is no eternal damnation in hell. Hell and death are to be
destroyed at some point. But Scripture mentions a Lake of Fire.
Jesus also talked about the flowers, that are here today, and
tomorrow cast into the OVEN? Is the Lake of Fire a cosmic recycler? Burning and refining energy? Is that
the end result of spirits that lose self-control? A timeless
agony, where they struggle with thier will to survive?
Guess I created more questions than I answered.

You got it! the heavens (Heaven, Summerland, etc.) are upper levels of the planes, of a higher vibrational energy than the astral, buddhic, atmic, etc. We do however retain individual consciousness, and if one believes in the "pearly gates" then that is what one will see. In reality, we create our own realities - our own heavens, our own hells, and our own in-between's or resting places on the planes, until our souls are ready to be returned to the earth plane. Recycling isn't just for treehuggers. It's a Law of Nature. Don't feel like it will be a let-down though. Ascending to those high planes after we pass away is no less than a spiritually orgasmic experience - to put it in today's terms.

Continuing on a similar theme. Our thoughts, are energies, affect both our physical forms and spiritual (energy) form. Our energy form is called the soul. Everything we do, everything we say, everything we put in out mind, affects the soul. When we die, the sum product of our life's energy (the soul), is joined with a universal energy form.

This thinking also attributes all the physical things (atoms) to be energy forms trapped in cages. All is energy. The physical world is nothing less than the product of the consciousness of the energy of the cosmos. In this way our lives consists, of moving, actions, being, within the consciousness of God.

The King James Version of the bible Luke 17:20 says “The kingdom of heaven is within you.”
In the Nag Hammadi, the Gospel of Thomas, it says the same thing. Jesus never tells you what heaven is, he only says “it’s like”. Both of the pre-mentioned sources say, “you will never say lo here or lo there”. Heaven is a state of being, not a place, so I believe that you may be correct in your thinking. Both sources are available online.

It has been proven that everything in existence is energy. What is unique is that energy is also consciousness. I will not debate religious issues because belief systems rule many peoples consiousness. You always were and always will BE! Look within for the kingdom of heaven. LOVE

Why is your "question" just a declarative statement with a question mark behind it? That's not a question. That's a statement with poor punctuation. Or maybe it's just a way to deal with your conscience since you know you're not asking a question, but trying to dictate some philosophy that you haven't got a clue about, and so you put a question mark just to CYA. Try getting real with yourself and then we'll respect some "reality" to your question.

Nobody know for sure but the general approach on Yahoo is: take a ridged stand and say everyone else is wrong stupid and evil. This approach works great in subjective area like religion and politics.

If you still think evolution is a legitimit theory then you can postulate all you want about the afterlife but it doesn't make it true. We have one who came from heaven and described what it was like and how to get there. He proved His power over death by raising from the dead and His word is true. All other thoughts are just fiction.
