Your question contains the tacit implication that evolution is driven by 'intent', and that it is purposefully moving toward some 'goal', guided by 'logic'. Since none of that is true, your question contains a logical fallacy known as a 'Straw Man' argument... a subset of the 'Red Herring'.
Your question is, thus, absolutely worthless.
It seems that logical fallacies are a pretty consistent feature of your questions and answers.

Both of you are missing some important points.
Jen- Macro-Evolution says mammals came from non-mammals at some point so the question is why would survival of the fittest cause mammals to developer sexual activity over a-sexual.
As far as the answer, I do not belive in macro evolution but I can explain why sexual reproduction is advantages in the light of micro-evolution.
With sexual reprocution the chance for genetic improvment increases. a-sexual creatures can reproduce themselvs so with thier genectice advantages come disadvantages.
with sexual reproduction sexual partners may have 4 children,
1 might end of with mostly genetic disavantages on both sides, this child will die.
2 of them might have a mix and they may reproduce some but not as much.
1 might have most of his parents genetic advantages and not many genetic disadvantages. This will result in a better version of the specifies and in theory this child will reproduce more so there will be more speicies with these genetic advantages.
Another advantage of sexual behavior is it encourages communities and communties make the species strong, through strength numbers.

Sex and reproduction actually works FOR evolution.
Each new generation brings in the stronger parts of the gene pool and filters out the weaker parts.
Also, it allows genetic diversity among the species so that it is less susceptible to disease and genetic mutation.
Look at banana plants. They don't produce seeds, and therefor don't reproduce. There is hardly any genetic diversity among banana species. In fact, if a disease can kill one banana plant, it can kill all other banana plants of the same species. This lack in genetic diversity means that certain species of bananas could become extinct from just one disease.
So there you go, sex actually leads to genetic diversity and helps evolution along :)
It's also a scientific theory, based on scientific studies, unlike "inteligent design" which is purely religion. Teaching it as science is not right.

If you TROLLED for books on evolutionary biology at the library, you might find out why sex is good.
Very short version: Sexual reproduction lets animals safely scramble theirDNA in a race to evade troublesome co-evolving bacteria and virii which might 'lock onto' a fixed DNA pattern. It's just part of the evolutionary arms race.

Asexual reproduction does not disperse enough risk throughout the gene pool. A species stands with higher odds of survival through sexual reproduction.

What are you talking about? some creatures are asexual.
They evolved one way, and we evolved another.
Ever heard of a gene pool? Sheesh.
You gotta stop with these silly "pseudo intellecutal" questions and do some serious reading @
http://evolution.berkeley.edu/evolibrary/home.php
It's non-biased, non-faith based facts from one of the highest accredited institutions around.
Believe what you want, but you cannot dispute evolution. ICR/AIG have been trying for 25 years, and have yet to come up with one shred of credible evidence to the contrary.
Seriously, read the berkely website.

There are no asexual mammals of which category humans belong. Male seahorses also bear the young, nature's just amazing that way dontcha think?? I think most people have a problem with the possibility that we evolved from apes. Heaven forbid we'd have to admit we're part of nature???

Belief in god would help you understand this. Here is a answer outside that belief of god. Survival in the evolutionary system requires strength. Sexual intercourse was forced on women at some point in our history. Basically that is how we survived the process.

Asexual reproduction is actually not good for evolution since it cuts out natural selection entirely.

why not sex? Its a dandy way to reproduce. I don't see how sex, even with what you've mentioned, disproves evolution.
