I know about water vapor trails behind planes, what about the ones that actually become clouds w/weird colors?
I often see unmarked planes that don't fly in commercial airpaths that leave trails in the sky, sometimes up to a dozen of them at a time, sometimes parallel to each other, and sometime perpendicular. After a while, these clouds spread out and either become a haze or become "clouds" and when the sun passes behind them there is usually a rainbow of pink and yellow, and sometimes green, definately not normal.
I know all about water vapor trails (con-trails) but those dissipate rather quickly (usually within a few minutes), but these clouds stay all day and end up creating weird colors and patterns in the sky.
Please visit my gallery of pictures I took at http://weathermodification.shutterfly.com to see what I'm talking about if you don't already know what I mean. These are pictures I've taken and the "rainbows" are more like an oil slick than a natural rainbow....
