Because a lot of people who claim to be Christians are not true Christians and make a bad name for the rest of us. I am willing to listen to someone else's point of view on something, but if I don't agree with someone I am NOT going to say, "oh, well you are going to die and go to hell!" We will just have to agree to disagree because just as strongly as my belief is embedded in me, your belief will be the same way within you. A lot of Christians say they are trying to draw people in but the way they approach them just runs them off. You don't start with drastic things first. You talk to people and see where they are coming from so you will know how to talk to them. So as I said before the people you ran into were probably not true Christians. Just because you go to church and know about God does not make you a christian. A true Christian is understanding and humble (but not a door mat either), NOT loud mouthed hypocrites that do things just for attention.

Because you look for those qualities. It's kinda like if I went to a mall to look at guys but I thought all White guys are horrible (don't get me wrong, I'm white and I'm just an example). I would look at all white guys and and critique them any way possible.

Most of my friends that are Christians are the most loving and humble people I know. Find the people that follow Christ (True Christians) and not the people that say they are Christians just for good looks.

Before you scrutinize our beliefs, understand them first. The Holy Spirit (you might call it your conscious) comes to us and makes us feel guilty for our sins. We welcome this. Those that are spiritually mature even ask for it. I'm at a point in my faith where I ask God to convict me, make me feel guilty, whenever I sin. I know a lot of Christians that want the conviction of sin so that they know when they sin. We want to feel bad for when we do bad. Why should God remove the guilty feelings when we ask Him to make us feel guilty?

Really? Well I'm guessing from your narrow and closed-minded question that you are an atheist and you seem to be a pretty big moron and hypocrite!
