What are some good performance parts that i could get for my 4.0 to increase hp and torque?

Performance chip, better exhaust, performance air filter, headers and lower rear axle gearing. The 4.0 is a good performer stock & should respond well to modifications.

look to be honest with you my brother is trying to do the same thing. he has a 2002 ranger and he thinks it is a f-u-c-k-i-n-g lightning. you could do all the tricks you want to, but fact is you are really just wasting your money. sure you could put a full exhaust system on it and it would sound like a g-o-o-k car. you don't want that do you? there is absolutley no point in trying to hot rod a 4.0. if you want more power you can A.) SUPERCHARGE IT!!!!!!!!!!!! B.) change out the rear end gears. it won't add power but it will make it accelerate like a bat out of hell. Or C.) put a real f-u-c-k-i-n-g engine in it like a 302. Oh and by the way i love Fords. these are the best cars in the world but Rangers are a waste of time. Get you a real truck then worry about making it cool, so ditch the Ranger and get at least an F-150

Obviously the above answers don't own a Ranger, I do, a 2003 and I have searched for a chip and there is not one to be found. There is a Jet performance chip but for the 250.00 there has to be a better one out there. I have not yet found it.
OH by the way one may say Ford sucks but the reality is that J.D. Powers last week rated the Ranger as the most reliable P.U. in it's class. I know you shade tree mechanics say so what but the Manufacturers blood flows by what ol' JD says

Just spend about $450 for a good perfomance chip. That is about the best for the money

id throw on some headers dor sure with some really good exhaust it will also save you lots of gas too maybe throw in a chip and see what that does too.
