Check to see if you have a virus, adware, spyware, etc on your computer. 4 good programs to use is Web Root Spysweeper, Lavasoft Ad-aware, Spybot, and for viruses/trojans I recommend using AVG Anti-Virus. You can find all of these programs at the link provided below. Besides downloading it, you can buy Spysweeper at any store that sells computer products.

If you did all of that and you still want your computer faster, start by trying to figure out what you don't want to always run when your computer first boots up. A link to a site that gives a video tutorial on how to do this is also provided below.

If that still doesn't help then I'd recommend seeing if you can upgrade your laptop. Maybe you can buy more RAM and that will work or maybe buy a better hard drive for it or even a faster processor. Unfortunately upgrading laptops are not all that easy as desktops are and if your thinking of going through all the trouble of buying more RAM, a faster processor then you might as well buy a new laptop. But I would wait until Windows Vista comes out before you do that.

Good luck!!

Dear fellow member,

Unfortunately, you can only upgrade the hardware to truly make it run faster.

Kind Regards,
