my kids like to eat them while they are still warm, so using cool water won't help, but thanks for the answers.

run cold water over it . Tap it on the counter or a hard object. peel off a small piece of shell off big enough for a edge of a spoon to get under the shell and follow the shape with the spoon around the egg.

use a little vinegar in your water when boiling the egg.....this will make the egg not stick so much to the inner shell....... roll the egg on a flat surface with a little pressure so that it is cracked all around. then the shell should come off almost in one piece, peeling with your thumb like you would any other hardboiled egg....there are sometimes stubburn pieces and no on likes to eat egg shells i guess you could run the egg under warm water so it doesnt cool down your eggs for the kids. using latex gloves will help you from burning your fingers

How funny, I just finished peeling eggs before getting on the computer and seeing this question. I drained the pan I was cooking the eggs in, put in tap water to start cooling them and then peeled them under cool tap water. It worked for most of the eggs but there was one that just didn't want to peel easily.

Put them into a deep pan of cold water. I peel them underwater. The water gets under the shell and does not allow the shell to form a vacuum to the egg. It seems to work well. Cold eggs will peel better than hot ones.

You should really let them rest in a bowl of cold water right after you take them out of the boiling water. This slows down the cooking process, and prevents that nasty grey ring that over cooked boiled eggs can get. After about 5 minutes they should be cool enough to handle.

Submerge them in ice water this will cool the egg and shock the egg so that the egg white pulls away from the shell for easier peeling. You wont burn your hand.

There's really not.. I usually run cold water over them to help cool them faster. In turn this makes it easier to peel the eggs. Adding salt to ehw ater while boiling eggs aslo help to make the shell easier to peel

There's a fancy device called an EGGSTRACTOR that "pops" them out of their shell in a second.

No more burned fingers, but use caution giving them to the kids if they are still hot.
